Emmerdale fans in shock as Lydia Dingle stands up to rapist Craig
EMMERDALE’S Lydia Dingle has stood up against rapist Craig in powerful scenes tonight.
The cleaner – who is played by actress Karen Blick in the ITV soap – was cornered again by attacker Craig but found the strength to call him out for his vile actions.
As he tried to lead Lydia out he grabbed her arm and she pulled away, scared.
“What’s the matter? Why are you looking at me like that?” he said.
“I’d never hurt you. I love you Lydia.”
Lydia said: “You know why. Don’t hurt me please. Love? You don’t know the meaning of the word.”
He said: “Whatever I am supposed to have done…”
Lydia cut him off and told him: “You know what you did. You raped me.”
Craig pretended to be horrified by the accusation and tried his best to gaslight Lydia into beliving it wasn’t rape.
She begged him to let her go and then found the strength to confront him.
“I know what happened and so do you,” she said.
“You pinned me down on that couch, I was too terrified to even move. I said no. You carried on anyway.
“I’m going. I’m not coming back. And you tell Samson the work experience is finished, or I’m going to the police.”
Fans are in awe of her.
One wrote: “Good on Lydia for saying it out loudly”
A second said: “Finally Lydia… you’ve been silent for far too long.”
Another added: “Come on Lydia, just let rip.”
