Coronation Street and Doctors star ‘QUITS soap after less than a year’ – just weeks after being added to show credits
DOCTORS star Wendi Peters has ‘QUITS the soap after less than a year’ – just weeks after being added to the show’s credits.
The actress, 55, took on the role of Nina Bulsara in the medical drama earlier this year.
However one fan account, @doctorsbbc, pointed out on Instagram that she had filmed her final scenes last week.
When asked about the future of Wendi‘s character, the BBC said: “For guidance, we don’t comment on speculation.”
Some fans in the comments section pointed out that she’s ONLY just been added to the show’s credit scene – and that it’s a really sudden exit.
One wrote: “Ummmm, WHY? She’s only just been added to the intro?? That only happens when you sign a long contract. DETAILS, please!? Xx.”
Another chimed in: “I’m Gutted She’s Brilliant Why She Leaving So Soon After Joining.”
“Oh no I really liked her,” a third chimed in.
Wendi has appeared in various other TV shows over the years.
She played Cilla Battersby-Brown in Coronation Street between 2003 – 2007, and again in 2014.
Wendi’s shock exit comes months after it was revealed she had split from her husband of 20 years.
Back in April The Sun revealed that she had moved out of her home with Kenny Linden.
An insider close to Wendi told us: “Wendi and Kenny were together for a long time and had a mostly happy marriage but grew apart.
“Wendi is focusing on her new role in Doctors and looking ahead to the future.”
