After 143 days of ethnic violence, mobile internet services have been restored in Manipur. However, security concerns remain as a night curfew is still in place. The ban on internet services in Manipur was the second longest in India, after Jammu & Kashmir. The government suspended mobile internet services in May to prevent the spread of fake news and hate speech. With the situation improving, internet services have now been restored across the state. However, tensions still exist, and the authorities have warned against organizing gatherings or protests without prior approval.
