I made 26 party bags for my daughter’s 7th birthday for under £20 – here’s how I did it

A MUM has been praised for sharing how she managed to make 26 party bags for “well under £20”.

Jamie explained that she was on a budget to fill up the party bags ahead of her daughter’s seventh birthday bash.

“The total cost for 26 children has come to well under £20, so I am buzzing about that,” she said in her TikTok video.

She kicked off with the striped paper bags, which she’d got from eBay for £2 for about 100.

“I’m going to reuse the leftover ones for my son’s garbage truck party – I saved all the green ones,” Jamie said.

She said she’s done girl and boy ones in pink and blue, but urged people not to “come for me” – she had been planning to use green for the boys but had to save them for the next party.

“The girls have all got a little bracelet – these were about £4 for a pack on eBay,” she said.

“They have got these squishy things that I bought on Marketplace – someone had a bundle leftover for £2 for like 30 of them.

“I thought they were going to be bigger but kids love that sort of thing don’t they.”

She then got a big bundle of stickers – a roll of them and a bundle one for £1.50 each from Etsy.

Jamie added some packs of mini Iced Ring biscuits, and had been planning to leave it at that.

“I was going to leave it at that but I got fleeced because my six year old came to Asda with me and she desperately wanted these,” she said, holding up a pack of five glow sticks.

“They’re from Asda, they were £1.50 for a pack of five so I bought five packs and then sadly my two year old isn’t going to get one, but I’m hoping he won’t noticed.”

The only thing she’s changed for the girls and the boys is to give the boys some slap bands instead of the bracelets, and to give them some more of the neutral coloured stickers.

“Party bags on a budget for my seven year old’s party this weekend,” she captioned her video.

People quickly took to the comments section to praise Jamie for sharing her tips, with one writing: “They look fantastic!”

“Such a great idea!” another added.

“How are we ignoring the fact your son wants a garbage truck party?” a third laughed.

“That’s so sweet and funny!”

“I love a party bag, I literally start planning 12 months in advance,” someone else wrote.

“Well done. They can cost so much!” another praised.

But someone else commented: “Ooh my daughter would have been insistent on a boys’ bag.

“I always do gender neutral.”

“I’ve got a spare of each in case that happens,” Jamie responded.
