Laura Anderson hits back at mum shamers over controversial parenting decision
LAURA Anderson hit back at mum shamers after she shared an honest and vulnerable insight into parent life.
The exhausted TV star admitted that she left her screaming daughter to “cry it out” after she’d tried every other option to calm her down.
However, she was forced to defend herself after a barrage of followers picked apart her parenting skills.
In her initial story, Laura shared a close-up of Bonnie’s feet, which she gently cradled in her hand.
“What a day and it’s not even over. Not 1nap longer than 20 minutes and fed every hour. I’ve had to let Bonnie cry it out as I’m out of ideas.
“3weeks today, wow what a turn from angel child to (devil emoji),” she joked.
“Praying tonight this doesn’t continue and she settles because I am exhausted.
“Who’s idea was it to have a baby,” she wrote with laughing crying emojis.
A few hours later Laura posted another photo, this time of her in the bath.
“When I say cry it out I meant about 2.5seconds so I could think of another solution as it was the first time she’s cried so hard and I wasn’t able to quickly rectify, chill peeps,” she wrote, presumably after receiving messages from horrified followers.
“She skipped a nap and was overtired so it just spiralled. Tomorow is a new day. Currently unblocking milk ducts in the bath woo!”
Laura gave birth to the baby girl earlier this month with her ex Gary Lucy.
“Hi everyone, my name is Bonnie Rose Lucy Anderson,” she wrote on Instagram with a photo of her daughter.
“I was born 02/09/23 at 06.03am and weighed 6.10lbs.
“My mummy and daddy are sooo in happy and in love with me, this is our first week together.
“I’m sorry it’s taken me some time to introduce myself, I hurt mummy a little bit and scared daddy too (oops) we’re all now recovering well at home.”
The TV star broke up with Hollyoaks star Gary while she was pregnant with Bonnie, but they have agreed to co-parent.
The former couple met on Celebs Go Dating, but endured a bitter break up months after announcing they were to be parents.
However, after Laura gave birth they were seen posing together with Bonnie and held hands as they left the hospital.
