I tried to convince people XL Bullys are safe – then I was left with horror injuries after one viciously attacked me
AN XL Bully “campaigner” who stood up for the breed was mauled by one when its owner set it on him – resulting in horrific injuries.
Ben Cźyżyk, 38, was out with family in Wolverhampton, West Mids, on Friday night when he told a thug to put his dog on a lead.

Recalling the 10pm horror, Ben told MainOnline: “I think I got a couple of defensive shots in but I was no match for a XL Bully and his vicious owner.”
Ben was kicked and punched on the floor by his assailant as the dog gored his leg in Tettenhall, west of the city.
Police were called but the owner and dog had fled the scene by the time they arrived, Ben said.
The dad-of-three was left with 12 fractures in one eye socket, puncture wounds and deep bruising following the savaging.
It came just nine days after Ben posted a picture of an XL Bully on social media, saying: “Any breed can be taught to be aggressive.
“It’s time we quit blaming the wrong end of the leash.”
It comes as Rishi Sunak last week vowed to outlaw the XL Bully by the end of the year.
He said the beast, which is a cross between an American Pit Bull and US Staffy, will be banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
The Prime Minister said the animal was “danger to our communities” following a spate of horror attacks which left one man dead and an girl, 11, seriously injured.
But his comments have triggered a fierce backlash among lovers of the breed, with a petition demanding action against owners, not the dog, receiving over 572,000 signatures.
And on Saturday, hundreds marched on Westminster to protest the upcoming ban.
