'Political pyromaniacs' like Matt Gaetz are auditioning for Fox News: ex-GOP adviser
Republican lawmakers such as Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert are nothing more than "political pyromaniacs" who are simply auditioning for a Fox News role, according to a former Republican political adviser.
Former GOP campaign consultant and Lincoln Project adviser Tara Setmayer appeared on The Katie Phang Show on MSNBC on Sunday, and was asked about what's going on with House Republicans. She previously said the Trump campaign has "done nothing but sucker his supporters."
Setmayer began by saying certain GOPers have ulterior motives.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
"A lot of these Republicans who've been elected now, that are part of this merry band of chaos carnival clowns in Congress led by Matt Gaetz, Boebert, and others, they're auditioning for Fox News contracts," she said. "How many of them have gone into Congress, served one or two terms, they go to become hosts on Fox News?"
She added:
"I mean, this is not what house of representatives is supposed to be. It's not supposed to be in auditioning platform for Fox News. That's what it's become. It's not about governing anymore. They're political pyromaniacs."
