43-year-old Canadian marathoner Malindi Elmore one step closer to Paris Olympics after running qualifying standard

Malindi Elmore, a 43-year-old mother of two from Kelowna, B.C., achieved the qualifying standard for the women's Olympic marathon in Paris, finishing 13th among female participants in two hours 23 minutes 30 seconds on Sunday in Berlin.
