Millions of Android users receive free upgrade that instantly speeds up their phone
GOOGLE has gifted Android owners a new time-saving feature for the Gmail app, which can also help relieve some storage space.
When there is little storage space on a device, it can often become sluggish.
Google has confirmed this previously, urging users to consider freeing up space on their devices to unlock the best performance.
It’s best to keep more than 10 per cent of your storage space free, according to Google.
To help with this, the tech giant has finally introduced a helpful Select All button to Gmail on Android.
It helps users clean our their inbox more easily and in way less time than manually selecting all their emails or spam.
It was already available on the web version of Gmail, but is still nowhere to be seen for iPhone users.
When an email is selected in the app, the Select All tick-box appears in the top left of the screen, below the number of emails that have been clicked on.
While the option says it will ‘Select All’ – it actually only selects 50 at a time, which is the same as the desktop version.
So while it can’t completely clear out your inbox, it makes purging emails received on annual leave way less stressful.
Google has begun rolling out this feature to all Android users.
It already appears in Pixel and Galaxy phones running Android 13 or higher, according to 9to5Google.
If you don’t see it as an option in your app, check for Gmail updates in the Play Store.
The version of Gmail with the updated feature is titled: 2023.08.20.561750975.
