Coronation Street fans gobsmacked as Paul Foreman punches boyfriend Billy Mayhew in shocking brawl
CORONATION Street fans have been left gobsmacked after Paul Foreman punched his boyfriend Billy Mayhew.
Fans of the long-running ITV soap tuned in for the Monday fix of the latest Weatherfield drama.
They watched as Paul attended the funeral of his close friend Shelly who tragically died of motor neurone disease.
Paul, who is played by Peter Ash, is also suffering from the disease and tried to hold his composure for his friend’s send off.
His boyfriend Billy and local vicar hosted the service with the women from the Weatherfield choir performing the music.
However, a shocking brawl broke out when Paul traded words with Shelly’s estranged brother.
Kieran wasn’t happy when he learned Paul would be giving a reading at the service and demanded that a family member should do it.
“I’m her brother, I’ve no idea who this guy even is,” he snapped.
Paul hit back saying: “Yeah well you would do if you had spent some time with her before she died.”
He added: “You ignored her, you left her to die alone.”

Kieran then saw red and lunged for Paul, with the two men in attacking each other.
As Billy tried to make them both see sense and reminding them they were in a church, he was accidentally punched in the face by Paul.
He immediately apologised to Billy as the choir looked on in shock at the scenes.
They weren’t the only ones stunned as viewers at home took to social media to react.
One said: “I can’t believe Billy got whacked!”
A second wrote: “Omg, the vicar caught the punch!”
While a third commented: “Funerals, Christenings and Weddings are never straight forward on #corrie.”
