My DIY pumpkin spiced latte tastes better than Starbucks & will save you $25, it’s five ingredients for ‘fall in a jar’
A KITCHEN whizz has revealed how she makes a cheaper version of the beloved pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks.
She said her recipe saved her $25 and only required five ingredients to make.
Jenn Jewett (@lifewithjennj) filmed herself making the drink in a video on TikTok.
“My Starbucks order was $25 yesterday, which made me inspired to make some of this pumpkin cream cold foam myself,” she said.
“So you’ll need a cup of heavy cream, and then you want to use some real canned pumpkin, not the pumpkin pie stuff, the pumpkin purée.
“You need three tablespoons of that right into your little jar, and then you’re going to grab some pumpkin pie spice.
“You’re going to put a teaspoon of that into your jar, and then a teaspoon of vanilla extract and then I used a tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk for some sweetness,” she added.
The mother-of-four used a milk frother to blend up the ingredients in the mason jar,
“Took maybe like, a minute to get it to the consistency that I wanted, and it was perfect. Nice and thick, but not too thick so that I could sip it through a straw, mix it in my coffee,” she added.
She filmed herself doing a taste test on her pumpkin spiced concoction.
“It’s like fall in a jar. Pour it over your coffee, and I promise you will not feel the need to go to Starbucks tomorrow,” she said.
The video drew in many viewers who shared their thoughts in the comment section.
“I just made this but I use brown sugar and yes, it taste better than Starbucks,” one wrote.
“Yum,” Jenn replied. “I’m going to try brown sugar.”
“I have been making this for three weeks now but I keep drinking all my cold froth,” another added. “Literally 25 percent coffee and 75 percent froth.”
“Hahaha I don’t blame you it’s so dang good,” Jenn wrote back. “I need to make more.”
“Honestly this is a good way to save money, but no drink should cost $25. I’ll have to try this recipe,” a third commented.
