Disney Will Auction Swarovski ‘Cinderella’ Slippers, Beyoncé’s ‘Black Is King’ Catsuit & More for Make-a-Wish Foundation

Disney is bringing its beloved films, projects and characters a fashionable twist to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

From Oct. 12 to Oct. 30, Disney will auction items from its Disney’s Create 100 program — which tapped numerous international design talents to create unique, Disney-inspired clothing, shoes and more — with funds benefitting the Make-a-Wish Foundation, in addition to a $1 million donation from Disney itself.

Among the project’s footwear range is a Swarovski remake of the brand’s crystal pumps, which actress Lily James originally wore in 2015’s live-action “Cinderella” film.

In addition to Cinderella’s slippers, the auction also features a viral piece from Disney’s more recent musical project: Beyoncé’s “Black Is King.” The Marine Serre catsuit worn by the musician in the “Already” music video will also be auctioned, as well. At the time of the video’s release, searches for the piece rose by 426%, according to WWD.

Within the auction’s shoe front also come two collaborations with Adidas. The first, designed by Adidas Basketball shoe designer Kimmiski Adams, features a set of green and yellow sneakers inspired by Princess Tiana from 2009’s “The Princess and the Frog.” In homage to the protagonist’s finale dress, the set’s green shoe also includes sparkling crystal trim.

The auction’s second Adidas collaboration utilized upcycled materials for a sustainable sneaker inspired by “The Little Mermaid.” Adidas lead designer Charlie Kirihara made a one-of-one version of Adidas’ Gazelle Vintage shoe, using textiles and materials from stores that specialize in such items. The resulting patchwork sneakers feature colors and textures in a nod to the titular mermaid, with a sustainable spin.

The full Disney’s Create 100 programs collection also includes a wide variety of themed artwork, movie props sculptures, jewelry, musical instruments, clothing and more made by brands, artists and designers including Christian Louboutin, Tommy Hilfiger, Pandora, Nigo, Pete Doctor and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Currently, fans will be able to bid on the full range of items for auction when they go live from Oct. 12 to Oct. 30. You can learn more about Disney’s Create 100 projects and landmark anniversary on the brand’s website.
