I’m American & tried my first ever Tesco meal deal – people say I’ve been initiated into the UK but rated my selection
TESCO meal deals are a beloved staple lunch for many Brits – and an American has given their verdict after trying it for the first ever time.
Elise uploaded a video giving her opinion after picking up a sandwich, bag of crisps and drink from the supermarket chain.
On her @eliseseats account, she said: “I’m about to go get my first ever Tesco meal deal and as an American they fascinate me that you can get such a good meal for £4 – maybe a little more – is astonishing.
“I’m so excited.”
Elise was even more happy to discover the meal deals are currently £3.40 with a Tesco Clubcard, and she started the big decision of what to buy.
Pointing to the sandwiches, she said: “Do I go for egg and cress or tuna and cucumber?”
She opted for the egg as she’s “obsessed” with them at the moment.
Next up was the snack part of the meal deal and she headed straight for the crisps.
Thankfully this was an easy choice for her and she picked a Sensations Thai Sweet Chili bag.
Elise added: “I have to get my Coke Zero.”
Then it was time to sample the goods – and they went down well.
Taking a bite out of her sandwich, she commented: “Lush.”
And the crisps were also a hit, and Elise added that she craves them “all the time.”
She concluded that she was “in love” and asked people for their Tesco meal deal choices.
Her lunch experience has clearly entertained many Brits, as it has racked up over 40,000 likes.
One person said: “people think British cuisine is about full English breakfasts or fish and chips. it’s not. it’s the Tesco meal deal.”
Another said: “as a uk girlie i love how excited you are by this.”
Even the supermarket replied, writing: “Welcome to the Tesco family!”
However, one write: “No one has ever said ‘lush’ to a Tesco sandwich before!”
A second said of her choice: “6.5/10 on the meal deal imo, saved by the crisps choice.”
