Popular BBC wildlife show has ‘no immediate plans’ to return, reveals disappointed star
A POPULAR BBC wildlife show won’t be returning to the channel, its disappointed presenter has revealed.
Megan McCubbin has shared how her series alongside stepdad Chris Packham has been axed.
The show, called Wild Summer, saw the father and daughter duo embark on a road trip around the country.
However, Beeb bosses have dropped it from the schedule despite being popular amongst fans.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Megan confirmed there’s “no immediate plans” for a second series.
She said: “Perhaps if the opportunity came around again but at the minute there’s no immediate plans to do another series but you never know maybe in the future.
“They’ve been repeating Wild Summer recently and the reaction to it has been really great so it was really nice to see that come back around and people excited to see it again.
“We loved doing that show, it was a lot fun getting out and about experiencing nature and going and seeing everything from ponds to woodland and some amazing species.”
Viewers watched as the pair got up close and personal with incredible wildlife.
But they also got to see a more personal side to Megan and Chris as they reflected on their relationship.
Springwatch fans will stick get to see Chris and Megan together when it returns next year.
Megan was speaking to promote her brand new podcast called Waterlands.
It sees the star take listeners on an unforgettable journey to discover some of the richest wetlands on earth – ponds.
