Police pull over five McLaren drivers at once for using A303 like a race track
A convoy of supercars driving at speeds above 100mph on a major road were stopped by police.
Five McLaren drivers were pulled over by officers from Wiltshire Police’s Road Policing Unit (RPU) on the A303 in Wiltshire on Monday.
The force shared the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Wiltshire Specialist Ops posted: ‘RPU managed to get five McLarens stopped on the A303 after the pack were driving in excess of 100mph and close proximity driving to themselves and the public.’
They warned: ‘This isn’t a race track’.
When asked how they managed to stop all five vehicles at once, the force joked that McLaren drivers ‘can only go a few miles before they have to pull over and take pictures of their cars’.
In January last year, a ‘reckless’ supercar driver was caught clocking 142mph on the M5 near Bristol.
The top of the range BMW i8 was seen travelling at ‘track speeds’ on the busy motorway.
Avon and Somerset Police’s RPU tweeted: ‘This level of driving is both reckless and selfish – it puts lives at risk.’
