I’m an etiquette coach – 6 elegant wardrobe staples to wear for an ‘old money autumn’ and a trend that looks tacky
AN etiquette expert has revealed the six wardrobe essentials that will elevate your autumn look.
The elegance pro also warned her followers against going for tacky style trends this fall.
In her video, TikTok user Amira Bessette (@amira.bessette) shared her “favorite elegant fall staples.”
For her first suggestion, she advised her viewers to invest in a tweed blazer.
And for the colder autumn days, Amira recommended getting a long straight-cut coat.
She also showed her audience the trouser type to incorporate for a classy fall look.
Amira revealed that the tight-fitting riding pants known as Jodhpurs can elevate any autumn outfit.
To complete your elegant fall look, she recommended adding a pair of tall boots with block heels.
Amira advised her followers to accessorize their look with a pair of leather gloves with cashmere lining.
And to complete your cashmere look, she suggested investing in a high-end scarf.
In a second video, the etiquette enthusiast shared the tacky trends that can hinder your classy look.
For her first no-go item, Amira advised her followers against teddy coats.
She explained: “Yes, they are very adorable, however, they do not belong to elegant style.
“There is simply no way you can ever make them look sophisticated, not even for casual daily wear.”
Amira also recommended steering clear of light blue jeans, especially when styled with ankle boots or over-knee boots.
To avoid the “horrific” look, she suggested opting for white, dark blue, or washed-out blue jeans.
Next, Amira addressed a popular trend, which she doesn’t recommend for those opting for an elegant style.
Discussing leather pants, she said: “[They] look very cheap although I know they’re not, but they just remind me of latex.”
Amira also advised her followers against wearing chunky knit scarves in the cold weather.
While she admitted they look “incredibly warm and cozy,” she recommended only wearing them in your home.
Finally, Amira revealed the popular sweater print that she thinks looks tacky.
“I know some say it looks elegant, but I just don’t see it and I would certainly avoid this type of print,” she said.
