Marin gets dampened by rain, with more possible later in week
Marin County residents woke up to wet roads and more-than-dewy lawns Tuesday morning following a rare rainy September night.
Dial Hoang, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said that while the eastern side of Marin received only a few hundredths of an inch of rain, the southern tip of the county received up to a third of an inch. Mount Tamalpais got just over half an inch, while western Marin got about a tenth.
For parts of Marin, the rain began around midnight and ended around 5 a.m. Hoang said rain might return this weekend.
“We’re not seeing a chance for rain again until Friday,” Hoang said. “We are tracking a developing low system, but there is still some uncertainty as to where it will develop.”
Until then, temperatures are projected to remain steady through Friday with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s for eastern Marin and the low to middle 60s for the coast. Lows are expected to remain in the low to middle 50s for the entire county, according to Hoang.
