Brand new series of My Mum, Your Dad lands on ITV days after final – but there’s a twist
My Mum, Your Dad fans needn’t be too upset that the hugely popular first series has come to an end – as a brand new one is already available on ITV.
The Australian version of the unique dating show has dropped on the channel’s streaming platform ITVX.
All eight episodes from the Down Under version, hosted by Kate Langbroek, are available now meaning fans can binge the whole lot in succession should they wish.
The premise of the show sees a bunch of middle-aged single parents trying to find love under the watchful eyes of their kids.
The UK series was big on emotion and feelgood moments that proved refreshing from the usual catty reality TV drama.
There is a huge clamour for a second series of the show and host Davina McCall even expressed hopes for a celebrity version.
But some fans spotted a tricky blunder in the format during the final episode that could throw a spanner in the works.
It came as the kids were reunited with their parents in the Sussex mansion after secretly watching them from the bunker.
One person pointed out on X, formerly Twitter: “Loving #MyMumYourDad Davina! Would love to watch another series but could it be done if the parents now know their kids are watching them?”
A second reacted: “Absolutely loved this series and want more but really struggling to see how it would work for a series 2 as the aspect of the kids being the experts can’t be kept a secret.”
Another said: “The best bit is the parents talking to the other kids its making me so emotional, but now they’ll know in the next series!”
The final episode was a blessing ceremony where the kids had to decided whether or not to give their parents’ new partners their approval.
Widower Roger and bubbly Janey made it to the end, as did PE teacher Elliott and education worker Sharon.
Paul and Natalie were one of the first couples to get together in the retreat – but they’ve since split off camera.
All three couples won the blessing of their kids.
