'Head so far up Donald Trump': Democrat says McCarthy trapped by his debt to the GOP's right-wing
WASHINGTON — Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) hasn't publicly made any moves to reach out to Democrats willing to reach across the aisle and work with Republicans. Indeed, McCarthy hasn't approached Democrats at all, according to some members who spoke to Raw Story.
Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) is so frustrated by McCarthy and his loyalty to those who are seeking to remove him that he told Raw Story, "McCarthy's head is so far up Donald Trump's a-- he can't find his way out!"
"This is not our problem," he explained. "Really, I mean, the idea that the Democrats would bail out Kevin McCarthy? ... So, I mean, please!"

When asked if there was anything McCarthy could offer that would win him over, McGovern said he couldn't think of anything.
"You know what, he had a conversation with our leader and, to the best of my knowledge, he said nothing other than we'll have a vote today," the congressman continued. "So, you know?"
Asked if McCarthy is effectively neutered, McGovern said that it seems like he already has been.
"He has no power. And this place is total chaos. And again, the rules he agreed to, I mean Matt Gaetz could bring this up every day if he wanted. He basically agreed to a set of rules that makes this place ungovernable. He owns this. This is a Republican problem. This is a civil war within the Republican Party and we'll see how they handle it."
