Strictly in new fix row as pro dancer slams judges’ mistake over Amanda Abbingdon
STRICTLY Come Dancing has been caught up in a new fix row as a pro dancer has slammed the judges for an Amanda Abbingdon mistake.
The BBC One dance competition continued last Saturday as the celebs took to the floor once again.
One of them was Amanda Abbingdon and her pro partner Giovanni Pernice.
The pair but on a sexy performance with a Salsa and received good feedback from the judges.
It earned them second place on the leaderboard with 61 points, as week one’s results carried over.
However, one former star of the show has said actress Amanda’s performance dipped towards the end of the routine.
Brendan Cole hit out at the judges for failing to mention it, as they instead praised the 49-year-olds lifts.
He said: “Lifts never excite me – it’s not a tricky thing to do for a professional dancer so that kind of thing doesn’t excite me. It’s a weird look – it’s not particularly elegant.
“It’s not the kind of thing I’d do, but they [Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice] got their cheeky laugh and they got there. They got their moment, but I do think she did a great number.”
He continued to Sky Bingo: “She flagged towards the end, and the judges didn’t pick that up, which I found interesting.
“That was one of the key things about her number, it started powerfully, she was amazing [and] she looked fantastic. Then suddenly, it fell off towards the end.
“All they could talk about were the fantastic lifts – they did do one or two really nice lifts.”
Brendan, 47, left Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 following reports of a backstage feud with head judge Shirley Ballas.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s show saw Les Dennis become the first contestant to be eliminated.
