Strictly fans break down in tears at emotional opening number from pro dancers
STRICTLY Come Dancing fans were left in tears as the show kicked off tonight with a Disney-inspired medley.
The pro-dancers took to the dance floor and danced to songs from Pocahontas and Frozen.
Red-haired Dianne Buswell led the dance to The Little Mermaid, looking just like Ariel.
Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman walked out for the third week with Mickey and Minnie Mouse to celebrate 100 years of Disney.
And the judges – Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse – were joined by characters Goofy, Donald and Daisy Duck as they walked out.
Those watching at home loved every second and took to Twitter to comment on it.
One person wrote: “#Strictly got me in tears over that #Disney100 opener – I’m such a crybaby.”
A second said: “Already in tears at this beautiful opening dance number from so many #Disney100 songs – reminded of watching all the films with my gorgeous kids when they were little. Ah, nostalgia.”
While a third person added: “Ok well that opening dance has bought tears to my eyes the strictly professionals really are fantastic.”
