Beloved BBC Breakfast star missing from show in latest hosting shake-up
A BELOVED BBC Breakfast star was missing from today’s show in the latest hosting shake up.
Friday’s programme saw Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt on the red sofa presenting the latest news and topics from the UK and around the world.
But when it came to the weather, BBC Breakfast’s main meteorologist – Carol Kirkwood – was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, Matt Taylor was on hand to bring viewers the latest forecast for around the UK, which sees rain hitting many areas today and temperatures much lower than they were at the beginning of the week.
While Carol, 60, was absent today, she had a bit of fun with Naga, 48, during Thursday’s show.
Carol was impressed by how much attention the journalist paid to her forecasts when she asked a question after she had finished one weather update.
Naga said: “Your first map, the map of the UK. Have you added some details about the roads in it?”
Carol replied: “Yes, you can see them quite nicely here, can’t you?
“It’s useful when it’s snowing, for example, in the winter to have these [road lines] on.”
Naga responded: “Oh yes, of course!”
Carol added: “Well observed!” and Naga replied: “Carol, you know I always watch you very closely.”
With a laugh Carol said: “I do!” before Naga added: “Don’t worry too much, see you later.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
