Nara Lokesh, the general secretary of the TDP, has claimed that there is an immediate threat to the life of his father and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in jail. He cited health reasons, contaminated water, infections, and lack of medical assistance as the main concerns. Lokesh alleged that Naidu is facing a dire situation and is being deliberately harmed. Naidu's wife and daughter-in-law also expressed concerns over his well-being. The TDP state president has demanded that Naidu's personal doctors be allowed to examine his health in prison. Naidu is under judicial remand for alleged misappropriation of funds.
