The Indian Navy conducted a two-day coastal security exercise called 'Sagar Kavach' in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. The exercise involved around 2,500 personnel from various maritime security agencies. Its aim was to assess the effectiveness of the coastal security mechanism in dealing with threats from the sea. Indian Naval Ships, along with Coast Guard assets and other security agencies, were deployed for surveillance.
