Wireless headphones may be convenient, but they often sacrifice sound quality due to the use of codecs. Wired headphones, on the other hand, do not use codecs and generally produce better sound. However, with many smartphones now lacking a traditional headphone jack, using wired headphones can be difficult. Adapters are available, but they can be cumbersome and of low quality. To solve this problem, the author discovered the portable DAC dongle, which acts as an adapter, but also includes a digital-to-audio converter and amplifier, resulting in significantly improved sound quality.
