A CT man allegedly bought guns in Georgia and brought them here to sell
Federal prosecutors said they have charged a Bridgeport man with buying guns in Georgia and transporting them to Connecticut, where he sold the weapons.
The U.S. Attorney’s office said Tyree Thomas, 36, who was convicted two years ago of narcotics offenses and failing to appear in court, is charged federally with illegal interstate sales of weapons and illegal possession of weapons by a convicted felon.
Authorities did not disclose how many guns Thomas sold in Connecticut. But they said several have been recovered by law enforcement in Connecticut, including one believed to have been used in a murder.
Thomas faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He was indicted in Bridgeport in July and arrested in central Florida Tuesday.
