Carl’s father had trouble getting the windscreen washer to spray out of his wipers and believed they were broken.

As a result, he took the car to his son’s garage for repairs.

But upon arrival, he quickly learned that the windscreen washer had frozen over in the cold weather.

Uploading onto his TikTok account (@carls_garage), Carl revealed that all the car needed was to thaw out by entering a warm room.

He took apart one of the windscreen washer fluid lines and blew down it until he could feel air coming out of one of the wipers.

Carl was also able to hear the liquid bubbling in the fluid tank.

Shortly after, he showed the wipers working as normal as the washer sprayed onto the windscreen.

Carl explained that all the wipers and the windscreen washer needed was to thaw out – and that they weren’t broken.

He added that using some lower temperature windshield washer fluid would help prevent it from freezing over as easily.

This quick fix only took a matter of seconds to solve and is a crucial hack for drivers to remember throughout the cold winter months.

Elsewhere, a savvy van repairman has urged drivers not to panic over broken heaters, as they can also be so easy to fix.

With temperatures plummeting, motorists don’t want to sit freezing behind the wheel, but they have now been told what to do if their heater isn’t working.

Furthermore, a motors expert has revealed a number of simple tricks to help you save money on your car.

Andreas Giese, a specialist who works for Falken tyres, has picked out his best tips that could help ease the financial strains of motorists in the winter months when cost of living is expected to rise.
