GOPer says House chaos is due to his party's 'good part': 'We are independent thinkers'
Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) thinks that his party's inability to unite behind a new speaker is a positive thing, Newsweek reported.
Speaking to Fox News Thursday, Tiffany said Democrats didn't have trouble finding a speaker because they "act in lockstep."
"We are independent thinkers in the Republican Party and that's the good part about our party," he said.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
As of this Thursday, the House has entered into its 15th day without a speaker.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) failed to win the role for the second time in two days Wednesday after receiving 200 votes on the first ballot and 199 on the second. On Thursday, he announced he was stepping aside.
As Newsweek pointed out, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries received all 212 Democratic votes on both votes.
