U.S. vetoes security council resolution calling for Gaza ceasefire

NEW YORK, New York - The United States has again come to the aid of its ally Israel in using its veto to block a resolution calling for a ceasefire and a humanitarian corridor in Gaza.

The resolution put to the 15-member council by Brazil was opposed only by the U.S. Rather than allowing it to pass however, the U.S. used its power of veto.
