The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), the apex body of Manipur's Tangkhul Naga community, has criticized Chief Minister N Biren Singh for his statements declaring Tangkhul and Meitei as brothers and making Ukhrul the summer capital. TNL asserts that they know their own history and do not want their land to become a capital of Manipur. They also reject Singh's authority to define the relationship between the Tangkhul tribe and the Meitei community. TNL welcomes development efforts but emphasizes that the government is simply fulfilling its duties.
