A Delray Beach man died Saturday, two days after he was hit by a car while walking or possibly standing on the shoulder of a street near Delray Beach, law enforcement officials said Sunday.
Delray Beach resident William Arthur Redman, 75, was on the shoulder of the road at 10:17 a.m. Thursday when he was hit by a 2006 Honda Accord being driven by Selma Jacobs, 93, of Delray Beach, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The accident occurred in the 15400 block of Michelangelo Boulevard, west of Jog Road and less than half a mile from Redman’s home.
Jacobs was driving north on Michelangelo Boulevard when she hit Redman, said Teri Barbera, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.
