Strictly Come Dancing shock as Eddie Kadi is axed just two weeks after scoring a 10 from Shirley for incredible routine
STRICTLY Come Dancing said goodbye to its fourth pairing tonight.
Comedian Eddie Kadi and Love Island‘s Zara McDermott were forced to battle it out in a tense dance-off.
And unfortunately for Eddie, his and partner Karen Hauer‘s time is up.
Craig Revel-Horwood said the quality of Zara’s dancing was “far superior”, while Motsi said it was “extremely close” as both chose to save Zara.
Anton Du Beke praised Zara’s “cleaner technique”, while Shirley said she would have voted the same way.
Eddie called the competition the “highest point” of his career and said his partner Karen was a “queen”.
Karen returned the compliment, branding Eddie a “treasure” and an “amazing human”.
One viewer said of the result on X: “I’m absolutely gutted Eddie and Karen have been eliminated, Eddie should be proud of himself and how well he has done.”
Another said: “So sad to see them go. Eddie and Karen had something special and I can agree that Eddie’s natural groove could get in his way, but he can move.”
A third posted: “Didn’t agree with that result at all tonight.”
A fourth said: “Eddie and Karen should have stayed in Strictly I’m no judge but they blend so well and have so much more rhythm…”
The elimination comes just two weeks after the pair scored a 10 from Shirley Ballas for their Movie Week Men In Black routine.
The duo took on the role of extra-terrestrial busting agents, originally played by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, for their couple’s choice dance.
It went down a storm and earned them their highest score of the series with 34.
Head judge Shirley told them: “When you do something well, it needs rewarding. This was slick, it had style, it was edgy, it was entertaining, you found your groove.
“Everything that you love in dance you were able to bring today as a partnership, I absolutely loved it.”
They were unable to capitalise on the momentum in the last two weeks though and now they have had their last dance.
If the Week Five leaderboard was anything to go by it was a fair result as Eddie finished bottom with 24 for his Samba to Calm Down by Rema ft Selena Gomez.
Zara and Graziano Di Prima, who danced the American Smooth to Can’t Fight The Moonlight by LeAnn Rimes, tied third bottom with Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu, scroing 28.
