Dianne Buswell reveals heartbreaking real reason behind her Strictly tears with Bobby Brazier
STRICTLY Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has revealed why she was in tears on last week’s show.
Viewers immediately noticed something wasn’t quite right as Dianne and show partner Bobby Brazier reflected on their Tango to David Bowie‘s Fashion with show host Claudia Winkleman.
An uncharacteristically downbeat Bobby, 20, held his show partner close as she battled with her emotions.
All week fans had been speculating whether or not it had something to do with 34-year-old Dianne’s relationship with YouTube star Joe Sugg.
But now she’s taken to YouTube to set the record straight, revealing it was actually to do with an illness in her family.
She said: “I thought I would be very upfront and honest with you all.
“Last week I got some news about my dad’s health and I won’t go into detail, but obviously that affected me.
“Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is quite a difficult thing so I did struggle a little bit last week in terms of that.”
The health scare appears to have altered the family’s reunion plans for Christmas with Dianne now heading to her native Australia rather than them visiting her here in the UK.
She said: “There is a little road ahead for my dad but I believe 100 percent he is going to be fine and we are all going to get through it together.”
The popular redhead asked fans to pray for her father before paying a touching tribute to him.
Dianne gushed: “My dad is the sweetest, kindest man you will ever meet and the one thing he really wants is for me to keep going and to keep dancing my little heart out and doing what I love because that makes him the absolute proudest.
“Regardless if I go home with a glitterball or not I will still go home and have a hot Christmas.”
During their post-dance interview last week, Bobby and Dianne said things had been “tough” behind the scenes.
She called Bobby her “rock”, leading to romance rumours swirling on social media.
The pair were more upbeat this week and produced a spectacular Viennese Waltz last night which many felt deserved more than the 32 points awarded by the judges.
