Tata-owned home appliance manufacturer, Voltas, plans to manufacture air-conditioner compressors in India with a partner from either Japan or Korea, after a previous proposal with China's Highly International was rejected by the government. The company has lined up investments of over Rs 1,300 crore for manufacturing, including expanding capacity and manufacturing newer home appliances.
