Tiny waves for keen riders
Hello Friends,
Corker of a morning out there. At 0730 the ocean was lightly textured from a northerly breeze and surfers at Dee Why were hanging out, waiting for a shot at something in the knee to waist high range. Out at sea the MHL buoy was detecting 1.7 metres of 6-second period wind chop from the NE. There was some very small longer period component coming in from the SE, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some exposures were seeing the very occasional waist plus set in the mix. Not helping matters was the swampy 1.88 metre high tide due to peak at 0955. By then the northerly should be ramping up as we head to a high of 33 along the coast.
Tomorrow looks a possibility for the early session as the models show offshore winds and brief 1-2 meterish east swell with 9-10-13 sec periods.
Beyond that, the current prospects are for the swell to swing SE on Wednesday, but to be accompanied by wind from the same direction…
Go well everyone!
