Jammu and Kashmir experienced a significant increase in foreign militants than local terrorists in 2023, with 50 out of 72 terrorists killed by security forces. The remaining 91 militants, including 61 foreigners, remain active in the region, including the Rajouri-Poonch region. Union home minister Amit Shah is set to review the security situation, including the recent ambush incident in the Rajouri-Poonch region.
