Dolphins Bradley Chubb out for season after injury late in blowout

The worst that was feared for Miami Dolphins outside linebacker Bradley Chubb is now reality.

Chubb tore his ACL, a source confirmed Monday, when he injured his right knee late in the Dolphins’ 56-19 loss against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Dolphins will now be missing the standout edge rusher for next Sunday night’s regular season finale against the Buffalo Bills for the AFC East title and for the team’s playoff run.

Chubb was having an exceptional season, posting 11 sacks, which was one off his career high of 12 established as a rookie with the Denver Broncos in 2018.

Chubb’s knee buckled in pursuit to tackle Ravens running back Melvin Gordon with just more than three minutes remaining and Miami trailing Baltimore by 30.

Coach Mike McDaniel has been under fire since the injury for keeping starters in that late with the score out of reach.
