Trump’s previous end to aid in Gaza underscores need for hope | READER COMMENTARY

Dan Rodricks’ commentary was enlightening and moving in many ways (“A hope and prayer for Bassam Nasser, Catholic Relief worker in Gaza,” Dec. 26). I did not know that during Trump’s administration, he ended humanitarian aid to Gaza by stopping monthly food vouchers to Palestinian households, by stopping financial grants to start-up and small businesses, and by stopping funding to reduce unemployment in Gaza.  And, closer to home, Trump referred to Baltimore, as a”‘disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess” where “no human being would want to live.”  Dan Rodricks’ column resonates with the need for hope and prayer in light of the inhumane words and actions of the previous president.
