Blake Shelton's Latest Career Move Has Fans Worried About His Marriage to Gwen Stefani
Ever since Blake Shelton married Gwen Stefani in 2021, they have been a joint package — attached at the hip both personally and professionally. Lately, the musical duo have been pursuing separate work projects, which has fans questioning if something is going on in their marriage. Now, Shelton’s latest career move is heating up the rumors quite a few notches about a possible marital issue.
On Wednesday, the 47-year-old country star announced the dates and cities for his upcoming Back to Honky Tonk Tour. The performances have him traveling with special guests, Dustin Lynch and Emily Ann Roberts, in stops across the U.S. and Canada for about five weeks between Feb. 22 and March 29. His upcoming time on the road comes of the heels of Stefani revealing that they were spending New Year’s Eve apart this year — it shocked everyone.
Shelton took part in a pre-taped segment for Nashville’s Big Bash while Stefani headed to Las Vegas. “Well, it’s funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas,” she explained the holiday situation to Access Hollywood. “Last year I did Vegas, and I was like: ‘Remind me to never do Vegas again.’ But you sometimes want to… not be the host. So, I was like: ‘Eh, I’m gonna do it.’ If you’re gonna be working, then I’m going to be working. So, I’m just gonna fly in and out. It’s going to be awesome. I’m really looking forward to it.”
The dynamic duo also took her kids, Kingston, 17; Zuma, 15; and Apollo, 9, from her first marriage to Gavin Rossdale, to Woodward Park City in Utah ahead of the Christmas holiday. The Sun described the couple as “strained” as Shelton skipped out on many of the winter-weather events while Stefani skied and sledded with the children. The season can be a tense time for many families, so it might be much ado about nothing.
They seemed to iron out any differences in time for Christmas where they cooked up an Italian feast together in the kitchen with their family — and it looked absolutely delicious. With Stefani’s kids getting older, it might also be easier for Shelton, who is a devoted stepdad, to go out on the road for short stints to promote his music. It’s only a five-week tour, but we know their fans will be watching them closely.
