Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers are among four Championship clubs that are keen on signing Isaac Hayden on loan from Newcastle United for the second half of the season, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The 28-year-old is currently out on loan at Belgian club Standard Liege where he has featured in ten of the side’s 20 league games.

Newcastle have a recall option in Hayden’s deal that would allow them to bring the player back in from Belgium this month.

There are several clubs in England waiting in the queue in case Hayden is called back by his parent club.

Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End and Plymouth Argyle are four clubs showing keen interest in Hayden.

They are closely monitoring the situation regarding Hayden and could make a move if Newcastle United decide to activate the clause to recall the player.

It now remains to be seen what course of action Newcastle take over the course of the next month regarding the Arsenal academy graduate.

Hayden has been with Newcastle since 2016 and has managed 171 appearances for the club so far.
