Tokyo stocks end mixed amid concern over Japan's massive earthquake

TOKYO, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended mixed on Thursday amid mounting concerns over the economic impact of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, which will harm consumption and corporate activities in the short term and thus become a burden on the stock market.

Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock index, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, ended down 175.88 points, or 0.53 percent, from Wednesday at 33,288.29.
