No. 23 Providence (11-3) will be without their second-leading scorer, Bryce Hopkins, for the rest of the season after he tore his ACL in Wednesday’s 61-57 loss to Seton Hall, the team confirmed Thursday.

The 6-7 forward, who transferred over from Kentucky after the 2021-22 season, was enjoying another productive season with the Friars, averaging 15.5 points on 42.9% shooing and 8.6 rebounds.

“We all feel for Bryce and his family in this difficult time,” Friars’ head coach Kim English said in the team’s press release. “We will be with him throughout this process to help him comeback stronger than ever. We ask that all of Friartown keeps Bryce and his family in your thoughts and prayers.”

The Friars’ first game without their star forward will come on Saturday against Creighton (10-4).
