A COUPLE have shared how they are transforming a static caravan they picked up for free into a cosy tiny home.

Husband and wife duo @harpersandco shared how the small house was going to be scrapped, but they saw the potential to turn it into a snug place to live.

In a clip, they explained: “The static caravan itself was heading for scrap and we got her for free.

“We had to pay for delivery which was £100.”

They then decided to get some professionals in to check over the plumbing and electrics, which they had to pay for, and they also forked out for a new boiler which was £1,500.

When the caravan was more liveable, the adventurous pair set about transforming the caravan into a beautiful home.

They wrote on their channel: “Watch as we renovate our caravan into our family home.

“We’ve made a start by ripping out pretty much everything, flooring, cupboards, dining seating area, sink, toilet beds.

“We wanted to start with a blank canvas to try to make the most out of the space we have.

“Big thank you to the eldest for helping.”

In order to keep costs low, the couple are being frugal in their transformation process.

The woman said: “Where we can we do try and be savvy and go on the marketplaces and find things for free.

“We get things that are preloved and can get at a better price.

“Our rough start up [after paying for some initial supplies] was £2,700.”

They’ve since started painting and decorating and estimate costs are now nearer £5,000.

Not bad for a house that was going to scrap.

The couple are aiming to live in the static caravan until they can find their dream home down the line.

Their videos have racked up hundreds of thousands of likes, and people were quick to praise the purse-friendly project.

One person wrote: “I truly wish you all the very best with this, I’ve often thought about it.”

Another added: “I’ve been in mine for almost 3 years. Best life ever.”
