STRICTLY champ Ellie Leach has ­broken her Glitterball Trophy — just weeks after she was crowned winner.

The ex-Corrie star, 22, was devastated after the delicate plastic writing snapped off the replica, which is hers to keep.

However her handy dad could come to the rescue.

Ellie credited the BBC show with “changing her life” after triumphing last month with Italian partner Vito Coppola, 31.

Following her win, the soap star posted a snap holding the trophy – a replica of the original – on Instagram: “I’m now a yes person.

“This experience has taught me that giving your best is all you can ask of yourself, worrying about things that are out of your control isn’t going to stop them from happening.”

A pal said: “Ellie was gutted that she hasn’t been able to show off her trophy after so many of her friends are desperate to hold it.

“Luckily Ellie’s dad Al is good at fixing things so she gave it to him to put back together.

“It is her prized possession and she can’t wait to put it up in the house.”

Ellie and Vito sparked speculation they were dating.

But she said they “have a friendship that’ll last forever”.
