The 1st China Chess King tournament is a two day rapid knockout with 12 players in Chengdu, China 6th to 7th January 2024. World Champion Ding Liren returns to the board after a lengthy layoff just prior to traveling to Wijk aan Zee for the Tata Steel Masters. 12 players compete, the top 4 seeds sat out the first round. Semifinals: Wei Yi vs Yu Yangyi and Ding Liren vs Wang Hao.
