I wiped the shelves of TEN boxes of 35p toothpaste in Asda’s sale – the Karen’s are coming for me but I don’t regret it
THERE’S no feeling quite like nabbing yourself a total bargain – especially when it’s least expected.
But one savvy shopper has divided opinion online after admitting that she saw toothpaste slashed to just 35p in her local Asda – and couldn’t resist swiping the shelves clean.
Fiona Taylor took to money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to show off her bargain yellow-sticker deal.
Alongside a photo of her basket piled high with the minty fresh toiletry, she enthused: “Oral B toothpaste 35p in Asda.
“There was 10 left on the shelf so took them all.”
It wasn’t long before the post racked up a whopping 1k likes and hundreds of comments, with very mixed opinions.
Many admitted that had they been eagle-eyed enough to spot the deal for themselves, then they would’ve done the same.
“I would have taken every single one of them and asked if there was any more, people crying about £3.50 being spent on toothpastes is a madness really,” wrote one.
A second agreed: “Well done. Everybody else would’ve done the same. Thanks for sharing.”
A third confessed: “I would’ve done same. Saves me pennies on the next 9 I’d have to buy.”
Meanwhile, another quipped: “How dare you not leave any for anyone else!!!!!!!!!!! (Thought I’d do the obligatory comment so them Karen’s don’t have to).”
Fiona replied: “The Karen’s bet you to it. They came in their droves and ran henceforth with the pickaxes.”
Elsewhere, others weren’t quite so impressed with Fiona’s boastful post and couldn’t understand why she didn’t leave any for others.
“How many teeth have you got like?” asked one.
A second penned: “Awesome thanks for posting, i’ll just go… oh wait??
Fiona hit back: “I’m sure there’s more than my one local Asda that sell toothpaste but best check google maps.”
A third noted: “I wouldn’t have taken them all, it’s nice to know others can benefit too.”
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “I really don’t understand the brag about taking them all. well done?”
Having the final word, Fiona penned: “***guys it’s been great honestly. I’ve given the Karen’s something to pass their time with.
“I would just like to state that yes I took what was left, no I don’t regret it BUT the actual reason I posted was because they were a ticketed item not yellow stickered so they will be the same price in other ASDAs (because believe it or not, there’s more than one in the country) for people who wanted to check their own local store.
“Turning comments off now because it’s getting a bit repetitive. The toothpaste is the Oral B 75ml***”
