Baig addressed the congregation briefly at the graveyard, and said, "I didn't leave the PDP... I was quiet for some time, and silence is better in some circumstances." He was among the members who founded the PDP in 1998 and later he served as deputy chief minister and finance minister when the party was in the government in J&K between 2003-2008.
