Congress failed to open its account. Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had addressed several rallies in the area. Several ministers of the state council on minister aggressively campaigned in the polls. Polling for the 13th NCHAC was conducted on January 8, and a voter turnout of 85.78 per cent was recorded. Altogether 1,40,149 voters, including 69,823 men and 70,326 women were there.
