CORONATION Street fans have been left in tears after a beloved couple split and one character was rushed to hospital in heart-stopping scenes.
Tonight’s hour-long episode saw twins Aadi and Asha Alahan celebrate their 19th birthday with dad Dev and Asha’s girlfriend Nina – who Aadi had shared a brief kiss with at the end of the last episode.
Aadi gifted his sister a beautiful bracelet, and she joked he only ever bought her nice things when he was guilty about something.
He did a bad job of convincing her otherwise, and within minutes, he and Nina had admitted to sharing a kiss.
Asha was furious and stormed out, while Aadi headed back to his flat with a few cans of beer in a sombre mood.
Later, Asha headed to the flat to have it out with her brother, but when he didn’t answer the door, she let herself in and saw him crashed out on the sofa.
With a can of beer on the table next to him, she assumed he had got drunk, so threw the bracelet back at him and left.
However, Asha – who is training to be a paramedic – failed to spot the signs that Aadi had actually passing out due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Thankfully, Amy Barlow went round to see him shortly after and managed to realise something was wrong.
Aadi was rushed to hospital, where a doctor confirmed to Dev, Asha and Amy what had caused him to pass out, before adding it was lucky someone had found him in time.
Asha immediately felt guilty for not spotting something was wrong, but failed to tell her friends and family that she had been at the flat before Amy.
When she went to see Aadi, the twins made amends, with Asha remaining tight-lipped on her visit to his property.
Aadi encouraged her to also patch things up with Nina, and when she arrived at the hospital, she told her girlfriend she forgave her for kissing her brother.
But Nina’s hopes for things to go back to normal were dashed when Asha added: “You know, things haven’t been right for months between us.
“Maybe it just confirmed what I was already thinking…”
Nina replied: “Which is?” and Asha said: “That what we had…we’re over. I’m sorry.”
Asha promptly stood up and left the hospital’s waiting area, as a shocked Nina burst into tears.
As the credits rolled, Coronation Street viewers took to X – formerly Twitter – to discuss the Alahan twins’ latest drama.
One wrote: “Is Adi dying? Has he got a gas leak or co2?!”
Another added: “Aadi’s application to MI6 just gone down the shi**er”
