Is that Spring Training I see off in the distance?

Hello and welcome back to FanPost Friday! I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s best-of lists for 2023 a couple weeks back. I always love getting some good recommendations since there is so much media out there these days and it’s tough to track everything that might interest me. Here’s a fun song from 2023 that still can’t stop listening to.

Are Mariners fans still capable of love(ing) this team? Hard to say at this point given the pretty disastrous offseason so far and the accompanying well-earn online rancor from the fanbase, both here and other places. Against all odds, we are somehow a mere 32 (give or take) days away from pitcher and catchers reporting to Spring Training. Just typing the word Spring Training made my brain explode with emerald green grass, sunlight, and dopamine. Try it, it’s pretty nice.

Anyways, I’m as down on this team as anyone, but when there is baseball on the radio and TV again, I know they’ll pull me back in. So let’s see how we’re feeling as near the end of the dreadful time known as the offseason, with the obvious caveat that more moves *could* be made.

Bonus Prompt:

Okay so it’s been quite a while since the Mariners made actual scripted commercials like they did for decades, but in the comments let’s hear some pitches for 2024 fake Mariners ads. I have one idea to get y’all started: THE BROTHERS MITCH. Have at it.

Have a great weekend, stay warm, and go Kraken (they are on an 8-game heater).
